Make
Appointments?
Consultations are by appointment
and can be arranged by telephoning the surgery between 8.30am
and 6.30pm on weekdays.
If you have an urgent medical problem
that cannot wait for a routine appointment, please tell the receptionist who
will arrange for you to be seen earlier (she will need to know the nature of
your problem so that she can place the appointment with the most appropriate
clinician). If you request a same-day appointment, you may receive a return telephone
call from a clinician. Experience shows us that many conditions can be dealt
with in this way, rather than a face-to-face appointment.
If you are unable to attend for
an appointment, or no longer require it, please telephone and cancel so that
someone else can benefit.
HOW
DO I...
Please do not ask a doctor to call
unless the patient is too ill to come to the surgery. If the patient has a temperature
or a rash, coming to the surgery will do no harm and will not endanger others.
When you do request a home visit,
please try to give notice before 10.00am. The receptionist will ask for details
of the patient and the reason for the visit. This information allows the doctors
to plan their calls and allows urgent visits to be dealt with promptly.
Please remember that a doctor can
see several people at the surgery in the time it takes to make one home visit.
HOW
DO I...
Obtain
Test Results?
Please telephone after 2.00pm for
the results of tests you may have undergone.
The telephone is not as busy then
and the receptionists will have more time to help and the doctor will have had
time to see the results and comment.
